I'm Kim. I'm an avid hiker, as well as a whitewater guide in Maine, for almost three decades. For a long time, I've grumbled about the lack of creativity in design on high quality sun hoodies. I'd find a cool design, but on a shirt that I wouldn't want to be hiking in, or be on the water in. My husband, Mike, is in the wholesale business of logoed products, as well as a fly-fishing guide in Maine and Utah. We had come up with some cool river designs to put on sun hoodies several years ago; They were a huge hit in our rafting community. A couple of years ago, I was heading out to hike on the Pacific Crest Trail in California when I came up with the idea of doing a topography map with the trail on a sun hoodie with the features that mattered: superior fabric with UPF 50+, a snap to keep the hood secure during high winds, and thumbholes, helping to keep the sleeves protecting the back of my hands. My husband worked with graphic designers and got it to be exactly what I was looking for. People saw photos of me in it and asked where they could get one for themselves. The issue was, I had the only one. From there, we decided we should move ahead with making these hoodies available to all who want them.
